Certificates

The Department of Biology offers several certificates that corroborate your proficiency in Microbiology-Immunobiology, Biotechnology, Biodiversity, and Bioinformatics. The purpose of these certificates is to help those students to have a competitive advantage once they start applying for jobs.

The certificates are offered to students that have approved at least 9 credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and 3 credits in research (BIOL 4990) in an area of the chosen subspecialty. To obtain this certificate the student that graduated from Biology has to present the following documents: 1) A brief letter requesting a certificate in the subspecialty of interest, 2) official transcripts, and 3) a letter of recommendation from the faculty that mentored the student under BIOL 4990.
